Menz&Gasser has been awarded the Qualità Vegetariana® Vegan certification mark

Menz&Gasser has just added to our roll of honour of certifications, with the Qualità Vegetariana® Vegan mark for our ample selection of jam and confectionery product lines.

It is another step forward that reflects the company’s strategic commitment to meeting consumers’ needs. While the proportion of people choosing to follow a vegetarian or vegan diet has held steady at 7–8% in Italy over the last 5 years, sales of products catering for them has continued to grow – in 2016, the vegan segment alone was worth €700 million.

But these products are not aimed only at a narrow group of ethical consumers. Far from it. Indeed, they are enjoyed by an increasingly broad section of society, by people who see vegetarian and vegan certification as a sure sign of safe, quality food that has been properly monitored.

Qualità Vegetariana® Vegan is the trademark created specially to certify products that meet Italian Vegetarian Association standards. It is the first vegetarian/vegan certification in Italy and has immediately become a trusted benchmark for companies and end consumers alike.

The external body responsible for checking compliance with the required standards is CSQA, Italy’s leading certification company. The Qualità Vegetariana® mark is issued only to companies that pass its rigorous, meticulous inspections.
