Find out what goes into assuring the safety of our products at Menz&Gasser
All over the world, today’s customers and consumers expect food companies to ensure that their products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. That’s why Menz&Gasser is continually investing in the latest equipment and technology and in developing our procedures and controls throughout the production process.
Let’s take a look at the checks and tests that go into making a Menz&Gasser product:
- The raw material arrives at the factory with its certificates of origin and is subject to chemical, physical and organoleptic tests
- Then, in the production area, a series of metal detectors positioned between the cooking and packing systems ensure that there are no metal fragments or foreign bodies.
For products in glass jars, it doesn’t end there:
- The packing stage involves a preliminary check that the glass jars are fully intact; these optical inspections and X-ray examinations do not, of course, affect the product quality.
- Finally, an optical scanner automatically verifies that the lid is on and the labelling is correct, with the right batch stamp and use-by date for each product that comes off the production line.
Before leaving the factory, every batch – from single portions to buckets and jars – is subjected to new physical and chemical tests and checks on its taste and smell, to finally close the Menz&Gasser circle of safety.
