Menz&Gasser brought its thought leadership to the event Smart Farming & Food: a dialogue between business and research on the intelligent use of soil, water, agricultural products and food, organised by the Edmund Mach Foundation (FEM) and the Trentino Innovation Hub (HIT) at the Palazzo Ricerca e Conoscenza (the Research and knowledge centre).
Armando Tamanini, Menz&Gasser Technical Director, attended the round table on Food & Tech with representatives of some of the leading companies in the Italian food and farming sector. The talk was of innovation, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, traceability, big data and their impact on farm production and on the processing, distribution and consumption of food. “The new technologies are the future of business, and that includes the food sector. It is essential that production processes are automated and digitalised – not just for product standardisation but also to get the data back faster, for the whole company must work from the same information”, said Armando Tamanini.
The day concluded with in-depth discussions, where groups from the Mach Foundation joined colleagues from other bodies in the Trentino research community to present innovative technologies and the fruits of their research for the food and farming sector.
